More Kali is a south Indian recipe.
This rice flour recipe is a little different from the usual rava or suji upma recipe.
You may serve it for breakfast or as a evening snack.
You may serve this dish by itself without any accompaniment.
How to make more kali - rice flour upma?
List of ingredients and the quantity -
Raw Rice / Rice Flour - 1 cup
Buttermilk - 3 cups (1 raw : 3 cups buttermilk)
salt
Hing
For seasoning
Mustard seeds
Channa dal - 1tsp
urud dal- 1/2 tsp
green chilis - 1 - 2 or according to taste.
Ginger
Dried chilies - 2
Preparation to do before cooking -
If you are using Rice flour, mix it with 3cups of buttermilk, Salt and hing.
IF you are using Raw rice, Soak the rice in water for at least 1 hour and grind in blender into fine paste and then proceed with the same process as above.
Set aside for a day or for at least 6 hours.
Step by step cooking instructions -
1) Add all the ingredients mentioned in seasoning.
2) then add the Rice/ Curd mixture.
3) Add some water to the mixture if needed.
4 ) Keep stirring so that the flour doesn't stick to the vessel
5) Add oil if sticky
6) remove from flame when the mixture does not stick to the spatula or to the vessel.
Serving suggestions
You may now serve it hot.
You may also pour it onto a plate.
Allow it to cool and can make into square shapes.
It can be had just like that without any accompaniment. You may also serve sambar or chutney with this.
