cuisine has a large variety of vegetarian foods. Karnataka is one of
the south Indian states. Cuisine of Karnataka can be divided into north Karnataka recipes, south Karnataka cuisine and udupi cuisine. There are

North
Karnataka foods are made with rice, jowar, sajje(bajra). Jolada rotti,
shenga (peanut) chutney, Tumbid Badnekai(stuffed brinjal) is one great
combination that is served here at lunch or dinner.
South Karnataka cuisine include rice and ragi(finger millet). Ragi mudde (ragi balls) and soppina saru(green leaves curry) is a staple of many.
Rice is served with saaru, sambar, bele huli, majjige huli etc. Udupi cuisine is popular the world over. Dosa, masala dosa are made in homes as well as served in restaurants.
Most of the udupi foods are vegetarian. Karnataka snacks include nippattu, avalakki, maddur vade, chakkuli, kodubale, uddina vade, ambode, aloo bonda etc.
Karnataka sweets have a very large variety. Payasa(kheer) itself has many variations and is made with rice, lentils, fruits, vermicelli, nuts etc. Mysore pak, obbattu, holige chiroti are made for festivals as well as at other times.
