Rice flour upma recipe

This rice flour upma recipe is a traditional south Indian recipe.
Rice flour upma is a easier version of rava/suji/semolina upma.
It is easy to make and is easier for digestion too.
There is no roasting to do before cooking upma and that saves time.
How to make rice flour upma
List of ingredients and the quantity for 2-3 servings
one cup rice flour,
1 cup dahi (slightly sour),
2or 3 green chillies or red chillies,
half teaspoon mustard seeds,
2 spoon of curry leaves,
pinch of hing powder,
salt to taste.
Preparation to do before making upma
Mix rice flour and curds well and make it into a thick batter of pouring consistency.
You can adjust the quantity of curds and rice flour accordingly. add salt and mix.
Cut the chillies into small pieces.
Making upma:
Heat the kadai in medium fire. Add 4 teaspoonful of oil.
Add Mustard seeds,curry leaves, hing and chilies.
When the mustard seed splutters,add the batter of rice flour and curds.
Stir continuously so that lumps does not form. When the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan and when it thickens, remove from the gas.
You can add more oil, if you feel the batter sticks to the sides of the pan.
Serving suggestions
Rice flour upma can be served with mango pickle, coconut chutney or even sambhar.
Tastes good with just sugar also.
What variations can you make with this recipe?
Its a simple snack, which can be garnished with 3 or 4 pieces of cashew nuts or ground nuts fried in little ghee.
